Our Guide to your Perfect Wedding Day

18 - 12 months

  • Decide on a wedding date
  • Book the Moorings Hotel and Pay Deposit ( £400.00)
  • Book the church or Registrar
  • Book the band or entertainment
  • Book Wedding Transport
  • Book a photographer and/ or videographer

12 - 9 months

  • Construct a rough guest list and work out a budget
  • Choose dresses and fabric for bride and bridesmaid dresses
  • Choose tartan and or suits for groom and Groomsmen and arrange fittings
  • Plan and book a honeymoon- remember if changing your name to allow plenty of time for a new passport to arrive
  • Choose Wedding Gift List
  • Order Chair Covers and or any table decorations or favours

9 - 6 months

  • Start your guest list
  • Attend dress fittings
  • Visit the Moorings Hotel for a meeting with Wedding Organiser
  • Choose your wedding cake and florist (remember seasonal flowers will be cheaper!) and order
  • Book hairdresser and Beautician

6 - 3 months

  • Meeting in church to discuss hymns and music for the ceremony
  • Perhaps you would like to make a copy of music personal to you to be played throughout the ceremony
  • Confirm menu choice and Drinks package with the Moorings Hotel
  • Post out Wedding Invitations & Gift List
  • Choose gifts for Bridesmaids and Groomsmen
  • Choose the wedding rings allow plenty of time for alterations
  • Visit Hotel for final details and arrangements

4 - 2 weeks

  • Give final numbers to the Moorings Hotel 14 days before the wedding your invoice will then be sent/given to you for payment before the wedding day
  • Table plan and seating plan to the Moorings Hotel including a note of anyone with special dietary requirements
  • Practise Make up
  • Visit hairdresser to decide on style
  • Confirm final details with bridesmaids and groomsmen
  • Collect any holiday money or traveller’s cheques and pack bag for your honeymoon

1 week prior to your Wedding Day

  • Collect cake, suits and dresses

On the day

  • 2pm Ceremony
    3pm-3.30pm Arrival of guests to the hotel
    4.30pm Line Up Commences
    4.50pm Top Table and Then Bride & Groom Piped In
    4.55pm Cutting of the Wedding Cake
    5pm Speeches Commence
    5.30pm Meal is served
    7.30pm Evening Guests Arrival
    8pm Band Introduced and First Dance
